2009 SPRING Mystery "The Case of the Accidental Amish" Merry Mayhem's Case #105
General Instructions
|
|
This project could lead you astray as you make your choice of either a 54" x 72" Nap Size OR a 90" x 108" Queen Size quilt top.
|
Before beginning, it's a good idea to circle the fabric and cutting quantities which apply to the size project you choose to make. For example, if you wish to make the Queen size project, go through the Supply List and Part 1 and circle or highlight each item which lists the Queen size project. This can help you as you work your way through the series.

Please read all instructions before beginning. Try to be as accurate as possible.
SUPPLIES:
* Rotary equipment (mat, cutter & ruler)
* Marking pencil which shows on your #1 Fabric
* Sewing Machine, extra needles, extra bobbins
* Large spool of dark grey thread
* Basic Sewing Kit including a seam ripper, just in case!
* Iron & heat-proof ironing mat or board
FABRICS:
Prewash and iron all fabrics. Good-quality 100% cotton is recommended. Fabrics need contrast in this quilt.
You have many options:
* Use a Black background (Fabric #2) or any Dark color. If you wish to carry out an "Amish" theme, solid-color
fabrics are suggested. You may substitute prints of similar values as you choose your color scheme. Just
remember to have contrast.
*If you want a light background (Fabric #2) use good contrast for the rest of the Fabric choices. Just make
sure there is enough contrast between this Light Fabric #2 and your Fabric #1.
*Solids and/or small prints are preferred, but the sky is the limit on choices. Either choose a palette that you
like to work in or have fun with colors you don't usually pick off the shelf. If you have a good stash, you will find
what you need in scraps.
