*Draw an "X" on the wrong side of each of your 7 3/4" Fabric 1
squares.
*Layer your Fabric 1 and Fabric 2 7 3/4" squares right sides
together. Then sew an accurage 1/4" seam on BOTH sides of
each diagonal line you just drew.
*Press flat, then cut EXACTLY 3 7/8" from one side of the sewn
squares as shown in the center diagram at right. Then cut
EXACTLY 3 7/8" from the top (or bottom) edge to make FOUR 3
7/8" squares.
*Now cut on each of the diagonal lines you drew so you will have
EIGHT half square triangle units from each pair of Fabric 1 and
Fabric 2 squares.
*Press seams toward the darkest fabric. You should now have 96
squares, each measuring 3 1/2" by 3 1/2" (unfinished) if you are
making the Nap Size quilt; or 320 squares if you are making the
Queen Size quilt.
