2009 SPRING Mystery
"The Case of the Accidental Amish"
Merry Mayhem's Case #105
The Final Chapter
PART 6 - THE FINAL CHAPTER

Measure the length of your pieced quilt top and cut the two longer FABRIC #2 border strips (the
ones you cut way back during Part 1) to this length.  Sew one strip to each side of your quilt top.
Press seam allowances toward the border strips.

Measure the new width of your quilt top, including the two borders you just attached.  Cut the
remaining two
FABRIC #2 border strips to this measurement.  Also cut the two shorter
FABRIC #3 border strips to this same length, but then set them aside for the moment.  Sew one
FABRIC #2 strip to the top, and the other to the bottom edge of the quilt top.  Press seam
allowances toward the border strips.

Measure the new length of your quilt top, including the two
FABRIC #2 borders you just added.
Cut the remaining two (longer)
FABRIC #3 border strips to this length.  Sew one to each side of
your quilt top.  Again, press the seam allowances toward the border strips.

Sew the 6 1/2"
FABRIC #5 squares (the ones you cut way back during Part 1) to each end of
the two
FABRIC #3 border strips you have left.  Press seam allowances toward the FABRIC
#3
strips.  Sew one of these borders to the top, and the other to the bottom of your quilt top.
Press seam allowances toward your border strip once again.

Viola!!  You have just concluded another one of Merry Mayhem's intriguing mystery quilts!  (Now
if she could just figure out who left the lid off the jar of peanut butter in the pantry?)  Please be
sure to sign and date your lovely new quilt in order to prevent future quilt historians from having
so many "mystery quilts" to decipher!

You have just completed your top for the
Loose Threads Mystery Quilt Spring 2009.  We
hope you enjoyed this project.

(This Mystery Quilt was provided by Loose Threads Quilt Guild.  It was designed and known as:  'Merry
Mayhem's Case #105: The Case of the Accidental Amish'.)
