Light Fabric "A"
Two - 1 1/2" x 45" strips cut into 22" strips
Four - 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangle
Light Fabric "B"
One - 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" Center Square
Eight - 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" Squares
Three - 1 1/2" x 45" strips cut into 22" strips
Extra Pinwheel 5" x 5" block

Draw a line diagonally on the back of
dark 3 1/2" squares.
Place a "B" 3 1/2" square (right sides together) on the
corner of the 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangle. Stitch on the
drawn diagonal line.
Stitch a second line 1/2" from the first seam.
Cut between the two stitched lines.
Repeat for the left side.
Make 4 units.
Take the cut off half-square triangle units and press
towards the dark fabric. Trim to 2 1/2" square.
Nine Patch Units
Stitch each set together. Press towards dark fabric.
Subcut each unit into 1 1/2" strips.
Stitch as shown matching intersections. Press
Final Layout
Stitch units as a 9 patch. Press seams away from star
points.
Pinwheel Unit
Triangle squares joined into a
pinwheel unit.
One Color Example: Dark Blue on Light Blue
Two Color Example: Red on White
