YARDAGE REQUIREMENTS
(Approximate size of completed quilt: 72" x 86")
1) Background #1 - used in all pieced blocks: 2 yards medium
2) Background #2 - used in applique triangles (the outer triangles of the Blazing Star of the center square):
1 yard medium light
3) Background #3 - used in center for Blazing Star: fat quarter light
4) Background #4 - used as outer triangles (these sit in both the upper and lower edges of the quilt, next to
the first pale border): 1 yard medium dark
5) Dark setting squares and triangles - (located around pieced blocks): 2 1/4 yards dark floral print.
6) Fat quarters of assorted lights, mediums, and darks for pieced blocks and their applique
7) Narrow frame borders A and B - (one is located around the center Blazing Star, and the other is
located next to large outer border: 2 1/2 yards accent
8) Final large border C - 3 yards dark floral
9) Backing - 5 1/2 yards
10) Queen size batting: 90" x 108"
11) Binding - 1 yard for a 2 1/2" straight-grain, double-fold binding
NOTE: There will be enough fabric left over from the Narrow Frame Border if you choose to use it for the
binding.
