Log Cabin Basic Block August 2007 10" finished (10 1/2" unfinished)
|
The basic Log Cabin block doesn't need any templates.
Just work around the central square alternately adding
strips of dark fabric on two adjacent sides of the block
and light on the other two, cutting off each strip to the
required length as you go. If you start with a 2-inch
square, for example, your first strip will be 2 inches long,
the next 4 inches, and so on. But it's not necessary to
measure them in advance. Just cut up lots of strips of the
same width, for example 1 1/2 inches, in dark and light
fabrics.
